Watch Care 101. How to Make It Last a Lifetime.
A WATCH BUILT TO LAST
WATCH CARE
101
With basic care, a Valusis outlasts any trend. Here's what actually matters — and what doesn't.

DAILY WEAR
The Valusis is built for daily wear. 316L steel, sapphire crystal, 10ATM water resistance. Wear it swimming, in the gym, in the rain. None of these damage the watch under normal conditions.

What causes damage: impacts. Dropping a watch on concrete, knocking it against a doorframe. The movement is a precision mechanism — it tolerates wear, not impacts. Take it off before heavy physical work.

WATER AND CHEMICALS
10ATM means you can swim, snorkel, shower. Avoid hot tubs and saunas — thermal cycling degrades the crown gasket over time even within the water resistance rating.

Keep solvents, perfume, and sunscreen away from the crown area. The crown seal is the most vulnerable point of water resistance. Spray your wrist before putting the watch on — not after.

CLEANING
Wipe the case and bracelet with a soft cloth after workouts or saltwater exposure. For a deeper clean: mild soap, lukewarm water, soft toothbrush on the bracelet links. Rinse, pat dry.

The crystal can be polished with a jeweller's cloth if it develops fine surface marks — though sapphire rarely does. The bracelet and case are the parts that benefit most from regular cleaning.

SERVICING AN AUTOMATIC
Automatic movements benefit from a service every 3–5 years under regular wear. The service includes cleaning the movement, replacing lubricants, pressure-testing the case, and regulating the timing.

You don't need a Rolex service centre. Any competent watchmaker who works with ETA or Seiko movements can service a Sellita SW200 or NH70. Valusis movement choices are specifically selected for global serviceability.

STORAGE
Store in a cool, dry place away from strong magnetic fields — speakers, phone chargers, magnetic closures. Magnets affect the balance spring and cause erratic timekeeping.

If you own multiple watches, a watch roll or box protects the crystal and bracelet from contact scratches. For an automatic you don't wear daily: a watch winder keeps it running and prevents lubricant from settling.
